CM/ECF Registration

NOTICE: Effective January 21, 2020 - An individual PACER account is required to register to E-file on NJD's ECF system. NEW E-filing Registration will be completed electronically via PACER.

Changes in procedure include: 1. The tutorial is no longer required; 2. There is no need to complete a paper/digital ECF Registration Form.

If you are already registered (legacy ECF) - DO NOT SUBMIT A NEW REGISTRATION via PACER - YOU MUST FOLLOW THE LINKING INSTRUCTIONS ON THE NEXTGEN ECF PAGE.

Go to the bottom of the NextGen ECF page for steps on submitting a new registration request.

 

Attorneys in good standing with the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey will be able to obtain a CM/ECF login and password by registering electronically via PACER.

Pro hac vice attorneys may not register as filing users, but may request electronic notification by following instructions posted here. Please note that registration takes approximately 2 weeks.

 

IN ORDER TO QUERY ECF cases and dockets, non-filers and attorneys must obtain a PACER account. Go to the PACER Center for more information.

Pro Se Litigant Registration

Pro Se Litigants can register to receive Notices of Electronic Filings. The application can be found here.

 

I have left the government work-force, how do I transfer my ECF registration to a private firm?
